Stress

Personal Stories

One Sunday evening sitting by myself and watching television, I began to have awful chest pains, in fact so bad I fell of the couch and onto the floor. I eventually made it to my bed and was laying on top when the wife and one of my sons came in. They knew I was not right and called the G–Docs, who was there within 8 minutes. The Doctor plugged me into a cardiac monitor, I was then rushed to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with a suspected heart attack.
Once in hospital I was again plugged into a monitor overnight and a nurse by my bedside to look after me once my family had left. In the morning the machine showed nothing irregular and my heart was normal, I did a spell on the tread mill and that was ok as well. After 24 hrs of medical care it all turned out to be caused by stress. Never again.
