There are a half dozen or so Park Royal deliveries awaiting me on Monday morning Very Happy

Last one is half two and a stickler for time, so no need to rush to the first Laughing

Sunday was a 7 am start at poundland. Got given Preston with a 33 ft rear steer axle trailer. Got there in good time 8.10 and backed it exactly where it needed to go which surprised me as ive always struggled with the steer axles. waited until about 9.25 when the lad turned up then the fun started. The first pallet on the tail lift was a pallet full of drinks which just fit under the trailer door. i could see it was a bit wonky (you can see where this is going) go it on the tail lift and the tail lift dropped slightly causing the pallet to topple over. head in hands i couldnt believe it, the manager came out swearing and shouting. i explained what had happened and he said he isnt upset with me but this is the 3rd time a pallet has fell off due to it being stacked too high. we salvaged what we could and i reported it immediately.

got back slightly later than expected and was given 2 more drops, one in bingley and one in bradford in a 33ft tri deck rear steer axle. The bingley drop you have to back in off a main road next to a junction and back it on a docking bay where the gate is about 4 inch wider than the tail lift, again did it first time (on a roll now) problem 2 started. the anderson lead had frayed and not enough power was going to the tail lift so a kind lady from the shop held the lead in while i unloaded. job done and onto Bradford which is in an underground delivery point with pillers everywhere. a lot of drivers have hit the pillers as you have to blind side it and swing back to get on the docking bay, thankfully no other trucks were there and i was able to take my time and get it on the bay. it took 2 hours to unload 29 cages but i was on my way at 6pm. Made it back to base for 7.30, fuel up, drop the trailer and home. took the daughter back to Uni and finally in bed for just after midnight

Monday went to Sainsburys depot in Haydock as theyre taking on an apprentice, quite impressed with the place and its huge. Theyve just had a delivery of 67 plate Mercs which look very nice

Tuesday to Thursday itll be the usual bull being told what to do by people who dont know themselves

Im off next week so im going to try and get a few days driving in Waving

Back on the job so to speak after investigating the tattie fields of Fife for 4days with madam.Laughing

So as its intake time that normally means chasing around with empty bulkers, swapping them for full ones and dragging them back to the store.

First up is dragging one back from north of York to our yard, then one from Thirsk into Scunny, then one from Lincoln into Finningley near Donny, but as we all know in this industry plans, can at times, be er 'fluid'. Rolling Eyes Laughing

A fluid day for me also, depending on how much fluid is dumped on me, I did manage to cut the grass and pick up leaves yesterday so hopefully any which fall now will blow away

The weather person predicts drafts a plenty in SP territory, so any stray leaves should be well and truly blown away soon Ted Laughing

I was so blown away by yesterdays visit to Hoddy I'm going again today Very Happy
