With one of Stalin's favourite Generals, January, planing fresh attacks in the coming week I shall be playing it very much by ear. I have not been told of any plans I have yet.

In an attempt to confuse General January I shall be going to Walthamstow with one pallet, then doubling back to Enfield with the big delivery Laughing

All this comes after the diesel and adblue tanks have been refilled, and the windows and mirrors washed to make playing "spot the moron" easier Very Happy

Sabbatical beckons for a while now! Shocked Why? Cataract op Thursday, so I've no idea how long these things take to get sorted. I believe one can drive a car pretty soon after once done, but I really can't be bothered on the trucking side,as I guess 't other eye needs doing soon after!

Gives me a chance to, a; mellow a bit b; become even more of a grumpy old bugga-delete which one you think isn't going to happen to me! Laughing Laughing Laughing

Ma had both hers done at 93. Instant better results once the pad comes off after 24 hours, she could see colours she didn't know she had. She sent a yellow blouse back as she thought hers was grey. NO BENDING or looking down for a week or two, I hope Chris is good at socks and shoe laces Wink

First on the agenda this morning is a call to the medical section of DVLA to make sure they have received my doctor's report. Otherwise I'm grounded.

I wish you all the luck with DVLA Ted, the medical section are lovely to deal with, but slow Sad

General January had a good laugh at my expense yesterday by completely changing the plan for the day, with two drops becoming six Laughing

Today we're (currently) going to Reading first of all Very Happy

Hopefully Carillion aren't the DVLA subbies Ted! Rolling Eyes

Sorry, I accept that's in bad taste for all those worrying about their jobs and subbies worrying about whether they will be paid now! Brick Wall Fit

Bro works for a construction/plant hire/waste disposal firm for the last six months they have insisted on cash up front on any Carillion jobbie.
The writing has been on the wall for quite a while.
Today is a Tuesday, (it's ok I've just checked) but not sure of plans yet. I'll go and put my boots on and see what happens.

Good luck with the DVLA and dont worry you'll soon be 'all shook up' in Memphis i'm sure. The DVLA gave my dad his licence back which we were all shocked by, as some days he doesnt even know who we are and im pretty sure he will forget where hes going. Hopefully this year theyll take it off him for good.

I think with the Carrillion fiasco there'll be a few MP's on the books and thats why they've kept giving them the lucritive contracts for years. Just feel sorry for all the people now in limbo, no doubt the fat cats at the top will make sure they are all sorted financially

Sunday was a 7am start at my favourite place with 1 drop just off the A580 and the other in the Strand, Bootle. first one was straight forward but when i got to the 2nd one which is in an underground delivery point an argos truck and Herron food truck were parked up so i had to parallel park the thing. took about 15 mins but managed it. got back and was given a drop and swap at Birkenhead docks. done and dusted for 5pm.

Monday to Friday is paperwork and hassle, asked about redundancy again but to no avail Sad

hopefully back to do it all again on sunday and learn even more. Im now more confident at reversing and as a wise man once said I can do it but it might take me a bit longer Waving Waving

Sir John Betjeman wrote the poem;
Quote:
Come friendly bombs and fall on Slough!

Hopefully if they are falling today they miss you Birdie! Laughing
