A quiet week mainly. Up until Thursday when following an excursion to Cheltenham I came home to find we've booked another Memphis trip for late September / October Cool
My back celebrated by playing up which somewhat restricted my activities on Saturday on Belle and Milo watch.

Monday: Not a great start to the week as a trailer tyre blows ten minutes down the road from our yard Sad . Once the tyre fitter has been and done his thing I've lost two and a half hours, and traffic is now a problem Fit . My late arrival in Park Royal lands me on their tea break, which doesn't do the timekeeping any favours. Drop two in Waltham Abbey comes off without too much drama, and after consultation with the office a decision is made about which of the remaining deliveries to attempt within my now limited time. This delivery lurks up a back street in Homerton, which is accesable with a lorry via one entry only, all the other options having width and weight limits to protect the residents from thundering juggernauts Rolling Eyes . Sadly this one road in has a low bridge, and I'm pulling a high trailer Brick Wall . After a hundred yard reverse to get out, and some more phone calls to HQ, its back to base with htree drops left on the trailer Crying or Very sad

Tuesday: A change of direction as I head to Scunthorpe for my first delivery, then down to Chesterfield for the next. I knew the road, and when I saw a familiar looking gateway down there in we went. Shame I hadn't paid more attention to the paperwork as the security guard pointed me down the road to a firm next door Embarassed . No dramas getting tipped once I was in the right place, then across town to another in Chesterfield before running back over to Doncaster. This can be a slow job, but today they're cracking on fairly, getting me back out the gate with time left to run through to Kings Lynn to fetch one home Very Happy

Wednesday: Collect a trailer from the frim next door, then run up to Wakefield to tip that. Back down to Bennington for a collection, then down to Peterborough to get another one on the trailer. One more pallet out of Wisbech, then across to Kings Lynn to fill the trailer. Time was tight at this end of the job, but another of our drivers let me round him to load, and I was back in the yard with minutes to spare Cool

Thursday: First drop goes to Harlow, then I'm back to Waltham Abbey before heading along to Dagenham. Last drop is out at Rochford, then I just have to drop my trailer into a customers off site store at Stretham on my way back to HQ.

Friday: The night driver who was supposed to swap my unit for another part way through his shift didn't bother Fit , ;eaving me to take someone elses for the day. Fortune smiled as one of our New Generation Scanias was free, so I spent the journey out to Portbury tryig to work out what all the buttons do, whilst enjoying the very comfy ride Very Happy . The delivery is swift, then its back to Sywell to collect a load of pallets and run them through to Guyhirn. Get parked, leave my borrowed unit tidy for the return of its regular driver, and head off on my holidays Waving
