Monday: Was a Bank Holiday, spent reinstalling our hanging basket watering system and eating dinner with family Cool

Tuesday: Down to Enfield for my first drop, pausing for a tacho break at J26 truckstop. Why stop for a break on a run that's little more than two hours? Because from Enfield my next destination was just around the corner from HMP Pentonville, and the one after that in Bromley by Bow, so finding parking places wasn't going to be easy. Just getting into the Pentonville drop was less easy than usual thanks to extra parked cars in places where I wanted to put bits of lorry, but a bit of shunting saw everything where it needed to be. A single pallet departed in Bromley by Bow, and then it was into Beckton for more tight manoeuvring around parked cars. My final deliveries of the day go into Barking. One is simple, an empty yard making for a fast turnaround, the other has opened a new site, but still wants the deliveries into the old premises, which makes for an extra couple of laps of the block as I gather this information. Straight home empty from Barking Very Happy

Wednesday: Enfield again, but a full load into a self tip this time. After completing my long walk round, its up to Kings Lynn to reload, pausing at Walsoken after that to get the outfit washed before returning to Guyhirn. Swap my full one for an empty and run back to Kings Lynn to fetch another one home.

Thursday: Getting an trailer electrical fault remedied means I've gone from comfortably early to chasing to stay o time, but Coventry is reached within the allowed time, and I get to adapt to the new system of waiting in the canteen with a pager. Birmingham is next, then out to Evesham for two deliveries to empty the trailer. Back to Guyhirn empty.

Friday: The end of the week begins with a visit to Watford, and a new delivery for me. I'm glad to be early, as the empty car park is only just big enough to get turned in. Five minutes and two cars later could have been a very different story Laughing . Four drops around Park Royal follow, each characterised by interesting access Wink . Having had my fill of narrow places in Park Royal, I nip along to Wembley, before running back in to Park Royal for my final delivery. I'm early and this customer doesn't like that, so its sit quiet until they decide to get my tipped. Its only a two hour wait this time, and I'm still on my way ahead of time, to get back to Guyhirn for the weekend Waving
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass.
Its about learning to dance in the rain.

Bank holiday Monday and an Earlyish trip to Newent for a stroll around the lake before it got too hot (I can't believe I'm writing that about a bank holiday either) Then home to chill out and enjoy the sunshine.
Tuesday an early start and down to Weymouth where a full on day of grandparent duties awaited. Mist and 11c until about 15 miles out had me worried but it turned out another fine day.
Wednesday another full on day including sand castle building instruction for both kids and grandkids. After tiring all out by mid afternoon we headed for home.
Thursday was recovery day, especially after discovering we'd walked over 4 miles the previous day.
Friday, celebrating the end of the week at Tewkesbury followed by huge disappointment over events in Spain that evening. Bring on the cricket season.
