I've just had this email from Mercenary's son

Quote:
Hi

My name is Philip gormanly (the son of Andy gormanly a.k.a mercenary)

On the 08/01/09 at about 6 am on the A17 at Beckingham
My dad had an accident he came off the road and crashed in to a tree.

He's in a bad way but hopefully fixable.

He's broken all his ribs but only one has been displaced
At the moment his right leg is in traction due to his pelvis and the top of his femur being broken
He's on a ventilators because he is sedated
I will know more by the end of the weekend

I will keep you updated through e-mail's

We would be grateful if you would post this on my family's behalf as I am not a member but my dad is.

Yours gratefully

Philip gormanly

It could be an one of us, but it is 'one of us'.

Andy has been a Member of the PDA since it began, at one time he was the Membership Secretary and a Trustee but sadly his health and personal circumstances meant he had to give it up.
Since then he has always been a Member and has been with us at almost every Truckfest, he's remained a very good friend of the PDA.

We all wish him well and a speedy recovery, I know but I really do think this is exactly the reason the PDF has been formed and I will ask the Trustees and Almoners if there is anything we can do to help Andy.

Thanks for letting us all know Phillip and you are most welcome to register and post his progress on here, but if you don't have tie just email me and I will do it for you.
We will be in touch so check your emails.

Pat

Lorry driver seriously injured in crash

Published Date: 08 January 2009

Thursday, 4.35pm - A LORRY driver is in a serious condition after his HGV left the road and collided with a tree.
The accident happened at around 11.10am on Thursday at the A17 near Brant Broughton and involved a Mercedes lorry from the Boston area.

The driver was trapped in the cab but fire and rescue teams from Grantham, Brant Broughton and Newark worked for over an hour to successfully free the man, using hydraulic rescue equipment.

The driver was taken to Lincoln County Hospital.
